Vogue Archive: from 1892 to today.

Vogue puts online more than 100 years of fashion history through its archives.
Everybody can look for Models, photographers, brands, personality searching in the Voguepedia, a sort of fashion encyclopedia that relates the history and the “selected apparances” of the subject.
Naturally archives are the way to go deeper in your search …and it’s not for free. A special access to the fashion bible it cost 1575 $

Is this the definitive bridge between paper and and digital magazine? Well… Vogue (even Vogue) is changing its model leading the example with this Voguepedia. This is a sign of what will happen in the future: paper will remain a good and precious object, but it will be more and more rare and used perhaps for collectors and special editions. You don’t believe so? Well a film like this will give you a little taste of what is happening …

Bottega Veneta: the “Intreccio Uno” Playlist

“Bring another facet of Bottega Veneta into your life with a compilation of brand-favorite music”.
This is the aim of Intreccio Uno, the compilation born from un idea of Bottega’s creative director Tomas Maier and the Dj Michel Gaubert.
Two reasons why this is a MUST on Santa’s Wishlist:
1 – The mix of artists and styles is quite original (we especially like the French piano player Maxence Cyrin and the Italian drummer Tullio De Piscopo).

2 – The CD was designed by the photographer Robert Longo, that already collaborated with Bottega Veneta for the fall A/W 2010. It’s a perfect present for you or someone special. Don’t wait for Santa’s elves to do your dirty work, go now on bottegaveneta.com.

Celebrating Gio’ Pomodoro

Today I woke up with the idea to search something on Google.it and I discovered the doodle celebrating Gio’ Pomodoro.
I didn’t know the artist so I followed some links talking about his life and his conversation about art and the following video.
In 45 seconds he explains how he was able to sculpt with all materials… air included.
Quite amazing… isn’t it?

MAURIZIO CATTELAN @GUGGENHEIM NYC
Hailed simultaneously as a provocateur, prankster, and tragic poet of our times, Maurizio Cattelan has created some of the most unforgettable images in recent contemporary art. His source materials range widely, from popular culture, history, and organized religion to a meditation on the self that is at once humorous and profound. Working in a vein that can be described as hyperrealist, Cattelan creates unsettlingly veristic sculptures that reveal contradictions at the core of today’s society. While bold and irreverent, the work is also deadly serious in its scathing cultural critique…….(http://www.guggenheim.org/new-york/exhibitions/on-view/maurizio-cattelan-all)
